Spiritual Reparations: A Working Definition
Reclaiming a birthright is a ledger question before it is a mystical one.
By Robert Shumake · · 1 min read

Naming the debt
Spiritual reparations begins with an honest accounting: what was taken, what was withheld, and what was never taught. Mysticism without that ledger becomes escapism.
The three columns
- Taken — land, labor, language, lineage.
- Withheld — capital, credentials, ceremony.
- Untaught — the practices that would have made you unmanageable.
The claim
You reclaim the birthright by learning the withheld thing and teaching it forward. Nothing about that is passive, and nothing about it requires anyone's permission.
